French Dress Shoppe

This little vignette was inspired by some wonderful papers and doodads from one of my favorite art supply sources, Alpha Stamps. As I was playing with the papers and bits and pieces, the doll house I'm in the process of building caught my eye. Wouldn't it be fun to make one of the rooms a wee dress shop? That is all it took!

I started out with some of the pretty papers from the Lyric six inch stack and the chipboard mirror frames. I traced around the frames and cut out six papers. (three for the front and three for the back) I used some bookbinding tape to connect the three mirror frames together, then covered them with the papers. I used an old gold stamp pad to 'age up the edges of what is now a dress screen and then added some gold marker to give the edges more substance. Then I embellished each of the three components adding the feet last.

I cut out the adorable dresses from the  More Fairy Tale Costumes- Royalty Collage Sheet and glued them on the hangers. The dress form I covered with more of the Lyric paper, and glued the legs of a second dress form to the legs of the covered one, enabling it to stand up.

I played with accessories and bits and bobs until I like the way it looked.
The table is made from a little dowel and a piece of cardboard glued together and painted white.
It was a fun project!

OMG! This is too cute! This would go perfectly in one of the rooms in my doll house. Yes, I'm 58 yrs. old and have a huge white doll house with separate rooms. My ex-husband made it for me years ago and I love filling it with miniatures. You're never too old when it comes to paper dolls and doll houses. Thanks for sharing your dressing room, it's absolutely perfect!
